James M.P. Lowry (BA, MA, PhD, CFA)

A holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and formerly Vice President of an investment counselling firm with over $600 million under advisement, Dr. Lowry is experienced in all aspects of investment research and portfolio management. He has been a judge (mining industry) for the Financial Post Annual Report Awards as well as the Vice President and Programme Chairman of the Ottawa Chapter of Financial Analysts.
Prior to entering the investment field, Dr. Lowry was a Professor for over a decade in the Department of Philosophy, Classics, and German at Saint Mary’s and Dalhousie Universities in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He has taught at the University of Ottawa, and currently gives classes at the Dominican University College in Ottawa. He has written extensively in both investment and academic areas. Dr. Lowry is a Member of CFA Institute.
